Madden Wars League Rules

1. Respect your opponent. Basically, treat the guy you are playing the way you would want to be treated and then raise it.

At Madden Wars we play str8/sim style, which means we try and emulate the way NFL teams would play a game. Obviously, this is still a video game and it isn't going to be exactly the same, but this style of play is what we have found to work best.

4th down rules

No going for it outside of your 40 unless down in the 4th qtr.
If within your 40 and losing in the 2nd half, you can go for it as long as it's 3 yards for first down. Meaning 4th and 4 or less

Misc.

Goalline can only be run inside the 10 yards lines or on 4th and 1 or less.

No onside kicks unless losing in the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter. (Surprise onside kicks are acceptable, but only if you are down anytime in the 2nd half.)

No running clock until 1:30 left in either half.

Hurry up can be run anytime in the second half when down by two touchdowns or more (Or when necessary to conserve clock at the end of the half).

No manually bringing up your safeties past your linebackers and no putting your linebackers in between lineman.

Things like running bump n run every play, running multiple fake fgs/punts, audibling twenty times before each snap, and running excessive wildcat would not really fit the way we play. Mix up your plays (on offense AND defense), and don't try and abuse the faulty AI.

Disconnection Rules
If you are disconnected, you should do the best you can to finish the game, keeping the score and time accurate. Here are some guidelines to follow:

Disconnected in the first quarter, keep the score and restart the game.
Disconnected in the third quarter, keep the score, restart and just play one half.
Disconnected in the 4th quarter with under 2 minutes and one player up two scores or more - leading player wins the game.
Disconnected in OT, restart and first to score wins (just like NFL regular season).

There are many ways to finish disconnects. A few things to utilize: you can lower the quarter lengths to eliminate some time already played. The player who is ahead can use a timeout for the two minute warning if your 4th quarter is now the 1st quarter.
